Roadrunner Hub
Basic Needs Program- provides food to students, assistance with CalFresh and information about community-based resources.The Roadrunner Hub Basic Needs Resource Center aims to decrease levels of students’ food and housing insecurities so that they can remain in classes to focus on their academic success.

Early Action Emergency Grant - CLOSED
Early Action Emergency Grant - We are excited to have provided over $1.8 million in emergency aid to support our Butte College students during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, all Early Action Emergency Grant funds to directly support students have been allocated. If additional aid comes available, we will send application opportunity notifications to all students.This emergency aid grant is a first-come-first-serve grant until all funds have been expended. Students are limited to one Early Action Emergency Grant per semester as funds allow.
What the Early Action Emergency Grant IS/IS NOT.
- IS a grant created to assist current Roadrunners who are facing financial emergencies
- IS designed to help current students avoid dropping out when unexpected financial emergencies occur
- IS NOT a loan that is expected to be repaid or a type of funding that affects your financial aid award package
- IS NOT a secondary form of college funding or a permanent solution
REQUIREMENTS
Be a current Butte College student facing an unforeseen financial emergency or hardship that would otherwise prevent you from completing your education. Students facing financial emergencies are encouraged to submit an Early Action Emergency Grant application:
- Loss or reduction of income
- Unexpected medical expenses for student or family member
- Inability to pay rent/mortgage or utility bills
- Expenses due to an unexpected move, loss of housing, or catastrophic property damage
- Unexpected transportation expenses (i.e. car repair bill)
- Sudden loss of or increase in childcare expenses
- Documented theft of books and/or other essential academic supplies or tools
- Technology (computer or wifi/internet access)
- Books/supplies
- Food
- Transportation
- Tuition/fees
- Other
ELIGIBILITY
- Be a California resident or AB540 student
- Meet income level requirements for eligibility to receive the CCPG (visit our webpage for details ctienviron.com/services/financialaid/grants/promise)
- Be currently enrolled in 6 or more units
- Have earned a 2.0 GPA in the last 3 semesters at Butte College or past attended institutions (can also be a first-time student or have taken only pass/no pass courses or be supported through DSPS)
- Have a 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or CA Dream Act Application (CADAA) on file
- Not be an international student
- Not be enrolled in elementary or secondary schooi
*Grants will be pro-rated on enrollment status or available Cost of Attendance (COA) at the time of award determination
HOW TO APPLY
Students can apply for the Early Action Emergency Grant by logging into your MyBC Self Service student portal, selecting Financial Aid, then clicking on Early Action Grant under Form Links in the Resources section on the right.
*The Financial Aid Office may request additional documentation when applicable.
Applications for Fall 2023 will close on December 10, 2023 at 11:59PM.
Applications for Spring 2024 will open on February 5, 2024 at 12:00AM.
POSSIBLE ERROR ALERT: If you are experiencing trouble logging into or submitting the Early Action Emergency Grant Application and you receive an alert stating "You do not have the authorization to view this," some possible solutions are listed below:
- Log into your MyBC Self-Service using Google Chrome as your browser for optimal success.

Roadrunner Rise Grant Application - CLOSED
The Roadrunner Rise Emergency Assistance Grant provided over $1.4 million in emergency aid to support our students who were affected by the 2018 Camp Fire. At this time, all funds have now been allocated. The Roadrunner Rise: Camp Fire Emergency Assistance Grant will provide assistance
to qualifying students who were directly or indirectly affected by the 2018 Camp Fire.
The grant can cover tuition/fees, school materials, transportation, housing, utilities,
food and/or childcare assistance.

Eligibility
- Submit a complete and accurate Roadrunner Rise application
- Actively enrolled in 3+ units at Butte College in the semester in which emergency aid is being requested
- Be a US Citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Have a Free Application for 2021/2022 Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file
- Valid Social Security Number
- High School Diploma, GED, or completion of high school in an approved home school setting
- Submit a Statement of Emergency Need and/or Educational Purpose (if applicable)
- Have a complete Financial Aid file including, if needed, all appeals and verification
- Not be in default on a Title IV loan (student loan)
- Not owe an over-payment on Title IV grants or loans
- Provide documentation that outlines damages or losses caused by the 2018 Camp Fire
- This includes FEMA, Insurance Claim, Red Cross, Cal Fire and/or Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) Documentation, proof of loss of employment or housing due to Camp Fire. Camp Fire Emergency Assistance Grant Application Process

Once you submit an application, you will receive an email to confirm we received it. Within seven to ten business days, a Case Manager will review your application and reach out. If you have questions during the application process, please email a Case Manager at campfireinfo@ctienviron.com.

Restart Your Education, We've Got You Covered! - CLOSED
We are thrilled to have provided past due balance assistance to our returning students enabling them to continue their education during these trying times! At this time, all American Recovery Plan Act (ARP) funds to directly support students has been awarded.We are so excited to welcome you back! We understand how unpredictable this past year has been for everyone, which is why Butte College has offered to assist students with covering balances because of withdrawing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is how it works:
- Contact our Student Support Center at (530) 895-2511 or Español (530) 895-2284, and let them know you are ready to get restarted. We stand ready to assist you with restarting your education.
- Once attendance is confirmed at the census date Butte College Business Services Office will cover the full balance accrued as a result of withdrawing during the COVID-19 emergency declaration.
- Prior to the start of the semester you will receive an email to your Butte College student email with directions on how to access your $300 book voucher to assist in meeting the cost associated with books and supplies.
We hope that this small gesture will be helpful as you continue to pursue your educational goal with Butte College.

Q: Do I need to be enrolled in a certain number of units to have my previous balance covered?
A: There is a .5 minimum unit requirement to have your past due balance covered.
Q: What happens if I am no longer in attendance at the census date of the semester?
A: If a student is not in attendance on the census date of the semester they are not considered “returning” and will not have their previous outstanding balance from the COVID-19 period covered. Students will be responsible for unpaid balances.
Q: When is the census date?
A: The census date aligns with the college’s attendance reporting period for each semester.
Fall 2021: September 6, 2021
Spring 2022: February 6, 2022
Q: What happens to my book voucher if I don’t use it?
A: Book credits that remain on a student’s account after the 2021-22 academic year
will be recycled to assist other students in meeting the cost of books and supplies.
Q: What happens if I am unable to complete the semester, will I have to repay my
balance?
A: No! Our goal is to help you complete your educational goal by eliminating any
barriers that may prevent you from succeeding.

The Butte College Financial Aid Team called in ‘DASH to the Rescue’ to provide the
Dash CARES Grant Emergency Fund. These funds can help qualifying students who are
facing an unexpected financial emergency: tuition, books, supplies, food, transportation, housing, child care, and/or health
care.
Students are limited to one Dash CARES Grant. Students who may have received a Dash
CARES Grant prior to August 20, 2021 may be eligible to receive one additional subsequent
grant during the Fall 2021 semester. See IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION below for
details.
Unlike the CARES Act, the CRRSAA and ARP requires that institutions prioritize students
with exceptional need, such as students who receive Pell Grant.

$1,000 Dash CARES Grant - CLOSED
New, continuing and returning students- We are thrilled to have provided over 7,200 Butte College students the Dash CARES $1000 Grant to assist with their educational expenses! At this time, all American Recovery Plan Act (ARP) funds to directly support students has been awarded.New, continuing, and returning students: We are excited to announce that all students actively enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at the time of disbursement will receive a $1,000 Dash CARES Grant to assist with educational expenses!
*The disbursement to occur on or around 9/10/2021 is the only scheduled disbursement for this grant due to limited funding. All students identified and eligible to receive these funds will be notified through their student email and via text.
- Do all students mean “ALL STUDENTS?” Yes! All students who are actively enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at the time of disbursement will receive a $1,000 Dash CARES Grant to assist with their educational expenses.
- I am participating in College Connections or Concurrent Enrollment, am I eligible to receive the $1,000 Dash CARES grant? Yes! All students who are actively enrolled in 6 or more units at the time of disbursement will receive the $1,000 Dash CARES grant.
- Do I need to be enrolled in a certain number of units to be considered eligible? Yes, you must be actively enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at the time of disbursement to receive the $1,000 Dash CARES grant.
- Do I need to have a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application on file? No. This grant is not based on Federal Student Aid Title IV eligibility. The American Recovery Plan does require the college to provide priority assistance to the “neediest” students. In order to meet federal requirements, we will be providing priority awarding to students who demonstrate the greatest need through the FAFSA and California Dream Act application. However, all students will be considered for this award.
- If I am on Financial Aid probation or I am not eligible to receive financial aid, can I still get this grant? Yes! This grant is not tied to any Federal Student Aid Title IV eligibility requirements.
- When will I get this disbursement? Upon review of your enrollment, Butte College estimates the initial disbursement to occur around September 10, 2021 dependent on the volume of reviewed enrollments.
- Will I be responsible for paying back the $1,000 Dash CARES grant if I am unable to finish the semester? No. However, we hope this additional grant will be helpful in assisting students with educational expenses and needed supplemental support due to loss or reduction of employment to remain enrolled.
- If I owe fees to Butte College, will they be deducted from this $1,000 grant? No. This grant will be fully disbursed to you after review of your enrollment at the time of disbursement.
- What are “educational expenses?” Educational expenses are any component of the student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care), or childcare. This $1,000 grant is provided to you, the student, and may be used for any of these components.
- How will I be notified if I am getting this $1,000 grant? Per Department of Education guidance, Butte College cannot include Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) grants on a student’s financial aid award letter; HEERF student grant award notifications must be sent separately. Upon review of your enrollment and at the time of disbursement, Butte College will send a grant award notification to your student email. In addition, you will receive a text message to your current mobile number on file notifying you of the grant award.
- How will the money be disbursed?

- For students who have financial aid and have chosen their disbursement preference through BankMobile, you will receive your $1,000 grant based on your preferred disbursement choice.

- For students who cannot open or setup a bank account due to identity verification issues, the Butte College Business Services Office will send a paper check to your address on file in the system. $500 Technology Voucher - CLOSED
Butte College awarded 2,000 students $500 to be used on technology related expenses such as computers, internet service, webcams, printers, software or any other technology item.Funding has been exhausted. You will be notified if more funding becomes available in the future.
Disbursement:
- Vouchers are issued in the order they are received.
- Disbursement will begin 9/23 until funds are exhausted.
